Community Resource Center
Now Open!!
The Community Resource Center (formally known as the FRC) is committed to supporting our community by connecting residents with essential services, referrals, and direct assistance. Through partnerships like SCOOP with Benicia’s Soroptimist, we strive to bridge gaps in support by providing crucial household items that may not be covered by other aid programs.
We welcome all community members to reach out for assistance or to learn more about how we can help. If you or someone you know could benefit from these resources, please visit us, or contact the Community Resource Center. Together, we can build a stronger, more supportive community.
Income Assistance for Recreation Programs
For qualified Benicia families, we offer an income assistance program that allows members within the qualifying household to receive 50% off classes and programs. To qualify you must live in Benicia and pay utilities at a Benicia address.
All enrichment classes, afterschool programs, summer camps, and swim lessons are eligible for the discount. Adult sport leagues, facility rentals, drop in programs (ex: open gym sports, Kindergym/Wiggle Room) and multiple use passes/punch cards (ex: lap swim, rec swim, fitness) are not eligible.
Families must apply on an annual basis for approval. The income assistance program expires in May of each year, at which time a new application with updated documentation must be submitted. We are not able to pull a previous application to provide documentation, so please keep a copy of your application, should you need access to the documents at a later date. Once all the required documentation is submitted, the approval process will take up to 1 week.
Please download and complete the attached forms, and submit application with required documentation. Applications may also be picked up at the Benicia Community Center.
