2025 Citywide Pavement Rehabilitation and Bicycle/Pedestrian Improvements Project

Scope

The 2025 Citywide Pavement Rehabilitation and Bicycle/Pedestrian Improvements Project includes asphalt treatment, digouts, and striping along approximately 1.1 miles of Military West/East. The project also includes removal and installation of asphalt concrete, curb, gutter, sidewalk, curb ramps with warning surfaces, crosswalks, rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs), signing and striping at various location throughout the City of Benicia.

June 17th, 2025 (Agenda Item 14.E)

Tentative Project Schedule

The work began on July 14, 2025, and was anticipated to be completed in early November 2025. Weather has been preventing some punchlist items from being completed, including striping of Park Road between Elm Street and Bayshore Road and Reservoir Road at the curve to the south of Lake Herman Road.

$2.1 million

Funding Source

Gas Tax, Solid Waste Vehicle Impact Fee, and State grant funds for Highway Safety Improvement Program, and Transportation Development Act grand funds

Construction Hours

Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Potential Resident Impact

Expect some minor traffic control along Military as contractor finishes up punch-list items.
