Community Emergency Response Team - CERT

 

 

The Benicia Community Emergency Response Team is accepting new members. Join us at Benicia Fire Department, 150 Military West, for this 3-day, in-person event where you'll learn essential skills to help your community in times of need. Our expert firefighter instructors will cover topics like disaster preparedness, fire safety, medical operations, and more. By the end of this training, you'll be a certified CERT member ready to help yourself and your neighbors in emergencies. Don't miss this opportunity to make a difference!

Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) - Earthquake and other natural disaster awareness and post incident survival training programs are offered to all civic and neighborhood groups upon request.

Program History
The program was founded and first implemented by the San Francisco Fire Department in 1990 following the mass community effort during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. The CERT program is an adaptation of the San Francisco concept and one of many throughout the Bay Area.
