City of Benicia Media Briefing - Benicia Port Fire

UPDATE 8:30PM - Benicia Fire Department and City staff continue to monitor the Port Fire incident. The next update will be Sunday, April 10 at 11 a.m. The City of Benicia will post on social media and www.Alert Solano.com if updates are required before then.
UPDATE 6:15PM - Solano County Environmental Health mobile air monitoring is continuing to take air readings. Reading are within normal range. Should conditions change and there were a need to notify residents, Alert Solano and City of Benicia social media will be used. Sign up for www.AlertSolano.com.
UPDATE 5:15PM - We've heard that Firefighters and staff are not being fed and cared for. Please know that is not the case. All are well cared for. Thank you for your concern.

UPDATE 3:39PM - We continue to monitor air and wind conditions. Wind conditions are favorable. The fire response is active and continuous. At this time, no structures have been burned. There continues to be no threat to the public.

UPDATE 2:30PM - Several agencies have responded to assist and several more are on their way: Vallejo Fire Department, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, Fairfield Fire Department, Valero Fire Department, Cordelia Fire Protection District, American Canyon Fire Protection District. Fire boats are inbound from Oakland Fire Department, San Francisco Fire Department, Naval Weapons Station Concord

UPDATE 2:27PM - The fire has been upgraded to a 4th alarm

UPDATE 2:12PM - Currently, due to the wind blowing from the West to the East, there is NO shelter in place in Benicia city limits. This may change if there is a change in wind direction. If that occurs, notices will be sent via AlertSolano and updates on social media.

ACTIVE INCIDENT 4/9/22 1:26PM - The Benicia Fire Department is currently working a third alarm fire off of Bayshore Road near the Amports docks. Please avoid the area. More information will be posted when it's available.
