A catastrophic failure of the signal light equipment at East Second Street and Rose Drive occurred yesterday. Public Works personnel have determined that a full replacement of equipment will be necessary at a cost of $16,000. It will be approximately 1-1/2 weeks before the lights can be replaced. In the meantime, the lights will be flashing red in all directions. Motorists are reminded to treat the flashing red lights as a 4-way stop. Please proceed with caution and courtesy. For questions or comments, please contact Dan Sequeira, deputy director of operations/city engineer at dsequeira@ci.benicia.ca.us or 707.746.4240.
