Boards, Commissions, and Committees Openings
On an annual basis in spring, the City of Benicia accepts applications for all current and upcoming vacancies on the City’s Boards, Commissions, and Committees. Applications will be accepted beginning Monday, February 2, 2026, at 9:00am. The deadline for submission is 11:59pm on Friday, March 20, 2026.
The following Boards and Commissions have vacancies and are accepting applications:
- Arts and Culture Commission
- Community Services Commission
- Community Sustainability Commission
- Special vacancy eligibility: 1 high school junior/senior student term, must reside in Benicia
- Economic Development Board
- Historic Preservation Review Commission
- Housing Authority
- Industrial Safety Citizen Oversight Committee
- Local Tax Oversight Board
- Open Government Commission
- Planning Commission
Any citizen interested in serving on a Board, Commission, or Committee is encouraged to submit an application online by clicking one of the links above. Each link directs applicants to a webpage containing additional information about the body and a link to the application.
If necessary, paper applications may also be obtained from the City Manager's Office at City Hall at 250 East L Street.
