Valero Advisory Lifted

Due to improving conditions, the City of Benicia has lifted the advisory for those with respiratory issues due to emissions at Valero Benicia Refinery. Air conditions are currently all within normal limits.

The refinery has begun the process of a controlled shutdown. Flaring is a normal part of the shutdown process and may be visible over the next few days.  The visible impacts are due to shutdown operations and minimize the risk of worsening conditions.
