Stormwater Facility Operations & Maintenance

Permanent Stormwater Facilities are required for regulated projects that create or replace 5,000 square feet or more of impervious surface. These facilities require an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Agreement which “runs with the land” to make sure they are maintained following construction and changes in ownership.

Here are the steps towards an O&M Agreement:
Planning Phase
Create a Draft Stormwater Facilities O&M Plan.
Post-Construction Finalize the O&M Plan with As-Builts of the Stormwater Facilities.
O&M Agreement The City will create and O&M Agreement using the submitted Final O&M Plan.

For details on the requirements of O&M Plans, please refer to the BASMAA Post-Construction Manual below, along with templates and examples. All references can also be found on the BASMAA website at https://basmaa.org/.
