Neighborhood Watch

  • Join Neighborhood Watch Group. If one does not exist, start one with help from the Police Department by contacting Patti Woodside at (707) 746-4268 or via e-mail at pwoodside@ci.benicia.ca.us. Additional Neighborhood Watch information is contained on the web site www.nnw.org
  • Leave message on answering machine that says "I'm not available right now" versus "I'm not at home right now"
  • Work with neighbors to keep neighborhood clean List and photograph valuables, itemize serial numbers, call department to engrave valuables using operation identification
  • Do not go in if your home has a slit screen, broken window or open door. Dial 911 from a neighbor's home or public telephone
  • Leave your home if you hear someone breaking in, if you cannot leave, dial 911. If you are unable to leave, lock yourself in a room with a telephone and dial 911
