Prescription Drug Drop Box


The Benicia Police Department provides a Prescription Drop Box for the public to dispose of unwanted or expired prescription medication.  The Drop Box is located at the front entrance of the Police Department (200 East L Street) and is available 24/7. The Box is under surveillance at all times for your safety.

Prescription drug abuse is an increasing threat, especially among our teenage population. Providing this service to our community assists in reducing access to and safely disposing of unwanted or expired prescription medications.

DROP BOX PROCEDURES

  • Remove all labels with personal information from containers.
  • Remove any non-liquid medications from their container, put in Ziplock bag, and place in drop box.         
  • Place empty original containers in recycling can and destroyed label in trash bin.
  • NO SHARPS ALLOWED.  Sharps can be disposed of at the Benicia Fire Department SHARPS Drop Box located at 150 Military West
  • NO TRASH, LIQUIDS, GLASS, NEEDLES, PARAPHERNALIA ALLOWED IN DROP BOX
