Lap Swim

Swimming is one of the best "overall" workouts you can do to tone muscle, ease tension, reduce stress and lose weight. Lap lanes are also available during all Recreation Swim times. Lap swim is available for swimmers age 8 and up. Please be prepared to show I.D. to prove residency.  Purchase a swim pass at the Benicia Community Center or James Lemos Swim Center for quick and easy entry - no need to carry cash!  

Spring Lap Swim Hours:
April 1st - May 19th  
  • Monday-Friday: 3:30-7:30pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 10am-3pm

May 20th - June 9th: 

  • Monday - Friday: 3:30-7:30pm
  • Memorial Day: 9am-12:30pm & 1:00-4:45pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9am-12:30pm & 1-4:45pm

Summer Lap Swim Hours: June 10th - August 11th

  • Monday-Friday: 7am-12:30pm & 1-7:30pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9am-12:30pm & 1-4:45pm


  • Lifeguards may make lane assignments.  Lap swimmers may need to share lanes.
  • Please split the lane for two swimmers, or circle swim for three or more swimmers.
  • Please allow lifeguards to resolve problems by bringing problems to their attention.
  • No diving allowed.
  • Lap swimmers will be sharing the pool with other programs.
  • Lap swim lanes are to be used for swimming laps, running, walking, or rehabilitation only.
  • Child lap swimmers must be at least 8 years of age and must swim laps unassisted by parents.
