Public Information Bank - Hazardous Materials

On April 1, 2025, the City Council of the City of Benicia unanimously approved an Industrial Health and Safety Ordinance (ISO) after a comprehensive, year-long public engagement process that included residents, stakeholders, and subject matter experts. The ISO aims to reduce the risk of hazardous chemical releases, improve accident prevention, enhance air monitoring, and promote transparency between the community and industry.

This website is intended to provide transparent access to information. While an informed public is a safer public, it is not possible to completely eliminate all risk. Our citizens need to remain diligent in their preparedness for all types of major disasters. Two of the most important items to assist in preparedness is signing up for emergency alerts and preparing go kits.
